Used for flattening land or breaking up large clumps of soil, especially after ploughing or disc harrowing. Flatter land makes subsequent weed control and harvesting easier.

On lawns, rolling levels the land for mowing and compacts the soil surface as well as assists in seed germination when reseeding. 

In Mallorca we need to be careful we don't "seal" the soil and that’s why we use a 350kg roller to simply press the stones into the soil and enhance seed germination.
